Learning to cable

Every autumn I start to eye up all the knitwear trying to find the perfect snuggly snood for when the days start to get cold.

I perv over all the cable knits wishing I could make something myself at home but then I remind myself of a very complicated pattern I once saw and immediately talk myself out of it.

This year I finally got the balls to give it a go. Its really not that complicated at all! I started off with a simple two strand twist which I made out of Wool and the Gang's Crazy Sexy Wool in Sand Trooper Beige.

I knitted up this snood for my cousin as a Birthday present. The wool is so delicious that I also bought it in Margaux Red, Khaki, Midnight Blue and Forest Green.

Honestly it's so dreamy I don't want to use any other wool!

Here is the double plait cable knit snood in Margaux Red.

I used 12mm needles on both and they both knit up ridiculously fast.

I'm currently just finishing up a single plait snood with knitted rows down either side using the forest green. It's a custom order for a friend.

If you would like a custom pattern please get in touch via my Etsy Shop.
